Nothing TO DO in Buffalo? Phooey!
Sure, we're known for chicken wings, but there's so much more to our culture than those tasty tid-bits!
Did you know that Frank Lloyd Wright built several homes in Buffalo that survive and are lived in to this day? And that Mr. Wright also built the Larken Building (no longer standing), the most advanced factory of its time. Frederick Law Olmstead created Delaware Park and a parkway system that rivals, in many ways, New York's Central Park? And, there is the Buffalo and Eire County Botanical Gardens a world-class facility for the study and observation of plants.
As for sports, we're proud of our NFL Buffalo Bills, NHL Buffalo Sabres, and the Triple A Buffalo Bisons! We're located on Lake Erie, so there's incredible Sailing and The West Side Rowing Club to be enjoyed. To the West and South of town there's some of the best skiing in the Northeast.
The Arts are well-represented. We've got it all! The Albright-Knox Art Gallery houses one of the finest and most comprehensive collections of contemporary and classic paintings, sculpture, and photography in the United States. We are fortunate to include the Albright-Knox as a cultural resource in Buffalo. We also have the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra performing in the magnificent Kleinhans Music Hall, a Theatre District which includes The Sheas Theatre, Studio Arena, and many excellent small venues for the performing arts.
Did somebody say they're hungry? We've got an amazing restaurant scene! There are literally hundreds of restaurants in Buffalo and throughout the county, restaurants that rival those of Toronto, Chicago, and New York. Italian, French, Japanese, Chinese, Vegetarian, German, Polish you name it! To keep it simple, I've included my Top 10 picks below. The rest you'll have to discover on your own!
This is just a taste of what Buffalo and Western New York has to offer. It's endless. And I hope, as you've chosen to make this area your home, you'll enjoy discovering which parts make this place special to you and your family.
So you see, when I take you to look at residential real estate, rentals or commercial property, it's not just the deal that's important. It's the culture and people of Buffalo and WNY that make this place like no other on earth. It's what will make you happy to call it home!
